(Ch. Redlion Western Wishes CD RN CGC “Twig x Ch. Sandy Oak Starlite Starbrite CGC)
Annie and Halley, aka Ch. Sandy Oak Starlite Wishes CD RE TT CGC, are full sisters, but a year apart. Both girls are conformation champions with obedience titles.
Annie finished her conformation championship early on with some fantastic wins including a 5 point major from the puppy 6-9 class that included Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex over other champions including her mother, and her father, Twig took the breed that day and a Group 1st! Annie earned her 2nd major the following month at the prestigious Del Monte Kennel Club show after her half sister Fire, aka Ch. SandyOak Webfoot Hearts Afire CGC finished the day before also with a major. I recently started training Annie for obedience, focusing first on the easier Rally obedience. Annie earned her Rally Novice title in 3 shows over a 3 week period finished with a 3rd place at the 2010 ACC National Specialty. We are continuing her training in obedience for more titles in that venue. Annie has also been pro-trained for field work, but sadly, I have no where to continue working her and no one to work with, so we’ve never pursued her Junior Hunter title. She is an awesome dog in the field and an exceptional marker with tons of drive and desire. We have just recently brought Annie back into the conformation ring as a “specials” (i.e. showing for Best of Breed competition against other champions) in the quest to obtain the new AKC Grand Champion title. So far Annie has all the major requirements behind her with 14 points so we need to get only 11 minor points to finish.
Annie was bred once to Ch. Meadowoods Quiet Riot NA NAJ CGC (“Curry”) producing a gorgeous litter of only 4 pups. A boy from that litter has earned points towards his conformation championship, but then the owners decided they didn’t want to show him anymore. It is my intention to breed Annie in the fall to Jon and Carol Knapp’s outstanding field trial dog, Ch. Quail Run’s Two Buck Chuck*** http://www.chessieinfo.net/cgi-bin/pp_pedigree.pl?id=28771&gens=5 and I want to keep a puppy from this litter.
Annie is also the litter mate to multiple High in Trial dog, Sandy Oak I’ll Be True To You CDX UKC CD, owned, trained and shown by Michelle Mingus, and also to Sandy Oak’s Vela CD, both of whom are also current competitors in the local obedience rings, along with sister Halley who picked up her first Ralley Advanced Excellent (RAE leg at the ACC National specialty with a 1st place out of the Advanced Rally class and a 2nd place out of the Rally Excellent class.
Watch for these outstanding girls in the various venues of competition throughout the bay area.
